A False Start

So, it started with — oh no! That’s not how it happened!
I mean, that is, I think it was —
Bah! Can’t make up my mind!
Information scattered like leaves in the wind.
I thought I had it before, but now I don’t
These thoughts that came to me some time ago.
I could have sworn I had it all planned out
But now everything’s just fuzz!

What was I going to do?
Who was I going to see?
Where did I plan to go?
When did I plan to do that?
Everything’s just a blur,
Like a car speeding down the highway.
Everything cannot be determined,
Like a bad research report.
Nothing can be assumed,
Because there isn’t anything to assume!
Everything’s just a blur,
And now I can’t remember the next lines!

False start, false start!
I wasn’t ready to do this!
It’s like life itself, except more compressed,
Like a file in the computer, in a way.
I was not prepared, obviously!
I forgot what I was going to say.
I was expecting to remember it all,
But I guess I just wasn’t ready!
